Temple is temple. This is not only of bricks and mortars. And more ,Hindu temple is world in itself. For centuries, Hindus or say Sanatan Dharma being the oldest religion on earth includes everything in nature.
India being birth place of Hindus and its temples – it has been always centre of attraction for religious people, kings, foreigners, adventurers, marauders and all.
Though small to grand all temples built,run by Hindus but for last thousands of years most temples are being controlled by rulers either it is Mughals or East India company or present India Government.
This is shocking to know and note that at the same time there is no interference in control of places of worship of other religions( Churches are controlled by locally different Diocesses and Mosques by Waqf).Reasons of such anomaly is incomprehensible to anybody in a Secularist country like India.
Now Karnataka CM has initiated step to free the 34,563 Hindu temples and institutions from the clutches of government control for over hundreds of years.Through the mujrai (Hindu Endowment ) all these 34,563 temples are controlled by government .All these contributes to state revenue deptt about huge Rs650 crore annually(Is it not squeezing of Hinuds).
Similarly recently UTTRAKHAND government has scrapped the government controlled Chardham Devasthanam Board which used to control all Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri and other 47 temples across the state.
The FREE TEMPLE MOVEMENT started in Tamil Nadu by questioning the need of such extorting and discriminating law created for Hindus Temple in 1815 by then East India Company.
